Mandolin

Mandolin

The Mandolin, alongside the celtic folklore, plays a big role in many musical traditions (USA, Italy, Portugal, Germany, a.m.m.). Furthermore it is often used in classical music.

I try to use the mandolin as a whole, styliytsically and playing-wise. Many playing techniques can be taught in lesson. From typical things like melody and solo playing, bluegrass chop chords, to atypical things like playing celtic tunes or classical chird accompaniment or even unusual things like i.e. finger picking.

I use all of this in my own playing and am happy to offer it as lesson content on the mandolin as well.

Beginning with the basic techniques we can, depending on your interests, move on to various styles and playing techniques on the mandolin. In doing so we can develop all the freedom you want to have while making music. I also gladly teach songwriting and improvisation. If asked for, everything can of course be underpinned with music theory.

Although my focus lies on celtic folk music, and hence I can especially communicate the ways of playing this music, I’m completely open stylistically.
