Tenor Banjo
Tenor-Banjo
The four-string Tenor-Banjo enjoys growing popularity in the celtic music. I play it in the tuning most used in folk music: GDAE. But lessons in CGDA are also no problem for me.
I try to use the instrument as a whole, styliytsically and playing-wise. Hence not “only” as a melody instrument solely. Chord and song accompaniment, melody playing, all sorts of playing techniques (why not try some finger picking or tapping on the banjo), solo playing etc. are possible.
I use all of this in my own playing and am happy to offer it as lesson content on the tenor-banjo as well.
Beginning with the basic techniques we can, depending on your interests, move on to various styles and playing techniques on the banjo. In doing so we can develop all the freedom you want to have while making music. I also gladly teach songwriting and improvisation. If asked for, everything can of course be underpinned with music theory.
Although my focus lies on celtic folk music, and hence I can especially communicate the ways of playing this music, I’m completely open stylistically.
